A Lesson From Canada

I found this video on the Facebook page, Now This Politics, and I found it very intriguing. This Canadian officer handled this situation very good. Off the bat I could not tell what the suspect was holding, if I was in the officers shoes, I would honestly fear for my life. I also noticed that the suspect was not firing and also screaming "KILL ME" multiple times. This us usually known as suicide by cop. Its unfortunate but some criminals do not want to be caught and would rather die. The officer handled it very well and showed a great example to future cops like myself. What i also found interesting about this video is that the video stated that Canadian police officers are spend 20% of their training on use of force with emphasis on use of non-lethal weapons or de-escalation. In the United States, police train for 58 hours on how to kill and only 8 on de-escalation. I feel like the U.S. Should take a lesson from the Criminal justice aspect from Canada.

London was also compared to New York`s homicide in 2017, which was 290 murders. Some of the reasons that this spike of homicides is occurring could be the budget that the British government had put on the police forces, cutting funds by more that 20 percent. There were also funds cut from local councils that run many social services. This made many yo...
